Our award winning 'Legends of the Garioch Experience' is a unique adventure that explores the heart of the Valley of the Garioch, which we’re proud to call home. Rooted in the land and the highlands, Aberdeenshire has long been famed for its quality food and drink producers, our neighbours. Follow in the boot-steps of the brothers who founded our distillery over 225 years ago, discover their legacy, mastery and dedication during this expedition outside the distillery gates. Discover what generations of workers have learned from each other in the workshop we’re so fond of.While you’re out exploring the barley-rich countryside, sample some of our oldest and rarest whiskies that have been handcrafted by the people of Glen Garioch, with some local delicacies to try en route.The distillery is at the heart of everything we do. Inside the original granite walls of the distillery you’ll see parts that are usually our little secret, you might even find a wee dram hidden in a dark neuk for you to savour! Your adventure concludes at Meldrum Country House Hotel, where our exclusive whisky inspired meal, served in the 800 year old Cave Bar, will bring together ‘Aberdeenshire’s larder’, tying up the final piece of the Glen Garioch tale and leaving you in the know, with quite the story to tell your friends!At a glance: A half day experience exploring Glen Garioch through the local countryside and farming heritage followed by an in-depth distillery tour with cask tasting and finishing with a bespoke lunch at nearby Meldrum House. Available Monday - Friday between 1 April - 31 October. Join us for this experience with a minimum of 2 guests for a more enjoyable time together. For any driver in your party, we have takeaway drams, to ensure everyone can enjoy a taste of our craftsmanship. Silent Seasons:Creating our complex and perfectly flavoured Glen Garioch Single Malt is a labour of love, and like all distilleries, we need to dedicate some time for essential maintenance and improvements to enhance our facilities. This is usually planned, but sometimes things happen to surprise us. No matter what’s happening, we will always provide you with a warm welcome and let you see as much as we can.
